Most Popular Articles On Mets Police (July 26)

Wow there’s extra-nothing happening in Mets-land.  Usually there’s something worth sharing in the Sunday papers…but with the season in ruins, nope.   Some Sheffield crankiness, Niese is nice, and more Tony stuff.  All boring.  It will be a long way to April.

Here’s this week’s most popular and those that deserved more love.  Tomorrow I have the Mercury Mets article all loaded for the leadoff spot, I think it came out well.  The teaser article about the Mercury Mets was well searched thanks to a mention from Mets Blog.

I’m very sad that David Howard (Mets VP) thinks Old Timer’s Day is a bad investment, and I think the Mets would be wise to invest in my kid before he grows up to be a Yankee fan.

Has the novelty worn of Citi Field?

Wouldn’t a prominent Mets Hall of Fame be a good idea?

Lots of search for McCartney pics.

I have added a compilation post of pictures of our Citi Field walkaround – these are of the outfield area, and shots from outside.

It’s pretty far down this article but Uni Watch says the Mets appear to have given up wearing pinstripes on Sundays.  Really?  (note – see comments section for more about this).

With nothing going on today I think I’m going to take David Howard’s advice and invest my time more wisely than following a baseball team that doesn’t care about me, just my money.

Don’t worry, I’m not giving up the blog (you’d feel sad for me if you knew how many pre-written articles are already waiting in queue), but it seems a good Sunday to do something else.

Mercury Mets tomorrow!

Over on the right side of the page you’ll see a spot where you can add Mets Police as a friend on facebook.  That will make articles automatically show up on your page, which hopefully will lead to the word getting out there.   I don’t get rich doing this (and facebooking the articles actually hurts what little money does come in) but if more people see the articles, including the guest posts you guys write,. maybe we can get the franchise to behave the way we’d like them to as their customers – and at the end of the day, that’s what Mets Police is all about – winning championships with honor and tradition, not sticking it to fans by making “Saturday” packages buy Monday seats.

  1. It's pretty far down this article but Uni Watch says the Mets have given up wearing pinstripes on Sundays. Really? "

heh…since i wrote that bit, i should probably qualify it — im given to hyperbole when discussing the mets, and i have no proof they've given up wearing the sunday pins — i should have said they "appear" to have given up the practice

they didn't wear the pins in the final subway series game (a night game on espn) so i thought maybe that was an aberration; however, their following home sunday game (against the reds on july 12 (their only other home sunday game this month), they ALSO didn't wear the pins…so that's two consecutive sundays without the pins…trend? maybe

it'd be one thing if they wore the stripes with the disgusting randomness they wear all their other combinations, but those were, at least in theory, supposed to the THE sunday home outfit

and the past two sundays they haven't worn them…we'll have to wait until august when they're home against the d-bags to see if they return to the rotation

    cheers,

    PH
