Most Popular Articles On Mets Police (August 9)

Lest you think that newspaper reporters don’t read blogs (and of course bloggers read newspapers), and in case you think this is all a waste of time and nobody will ever pay attention to us when we whine about obstructed views and black uniforms – keep the faith.

This week I wrote an article stating that the Mets will bring back Bobby Valentine as manager in 2010.  It was the most-read article of the week.   Matt Cerrone at Mets Blog was kind enough to link to the story…and now in the Sunday Post, an article “Pining For Bobby V.”   That’s really cool.  Coincidence, maybe – but I’ll keep on hoping that maybe all our collective typing can change things.  Brian Costello, this Rheingold’s for you.

As I mentioned on twitter (@metspolice) I don’t want to be a thief…the Cat Jinx Theory is not mine (it is Metsmerized‘s) but I’m happy to help popularize it.   Lisa Swan wrote this neat piece about the jinx.

Jeff Wilpon’s professional baseball career is still a bit of a mystery.  More on that later in the week.

The Mets don’t win much when they wear black and Santana’s ERA is over 10 when he does.

I don’t know why the Mets didn’t build the entire upper deck like this.

I still don’t get why Jerry Manuel is bothered that Parnell threw so many fastballs.  Maybe baseball should have a Head Coach who could work with players on a game plan.  Maybe a Director of Pitching who could work with the pitchers and make adjustments mid-game, maybe even mid-inning.   Maybe technology will someday allow the dugout to relay a message to the pitcher using some sort of signaling device.   Jerry, you might want to rethink that quote.

More Obstructed Views – this time from section 504.

I enjoyed Mets Guy In Michigan’s first trip to Citi.

Not sure why, but Yankee Stadium Parking Tips caught some visits this week.  Later in the week I will tell you how to save parking money in Queens.

People enjoyed debating the Wall Street Journal’s theory that baseball should switch to 2 strikes and 3 balls to speed up games.

Folks also enjoyed commenting about ads during radio broadcasts of baseball.

The Geico Yankees Play Of The Game has to be seen to be believed.

Mike Vaccaro gets it when he talks about how sad it is that Yankee Stadium is getting a bad end.
