Overanalyzing the Citibank New York Mets Ad

So look, I know I’m annoying but this kind of stuff annoys me.  If you sign up for any MLB related mailing list you get bombarded with sales pitches every single day.   Yesterday I got one for Citibank.

So what caught my eye was the father and son in the ad.   Those are odd Mets hats they are choosing to wear.  I guess they are pushing the hat that comes in the offer.

But what stadium is that?  Are they at Citi Field, or are they photoshopped in in front of a generic stadium crowd?  I don’t know the answer – but like I said, I am annoying and this kind of thing makes me start asking questions.

Nobody else in the crowd seems to be wearing a Mets hat.  Maybe they are and I just don’t see it.  It doesn’t look like a Mets game to me.  I could be wrong.  Is it possible the Mets and Citibank were too lazy to take a picture at say CITI Field?

So, if the banking ad interests you, check out the above and get yourself a hat and a pen.  I’m going to obsess over where these guys are sitting.

Yeah this is silly, but it’s what I do.

  1. I thought the same thing…there is no way in heck that is at citi field.

And what the heck is that orange thing on the kid's shoulder? It doesn't appear to be part of his shirt.
