“When the front office came over from Baltimore, I felt like they didn’t want us around,” Gentry said referring to when former Orioles executive Frank Cashenbecame Mets general manager in 1980 after the team was sold to Nelson Doubleday.

You know, I’m thinking back to my youth and I can’t recall any ’69 celebrations in the 80’s.  I may be wrong.  Anyone recall any?

Maybe the road to being the Brooklyn Dodgers started with Cashen?

I like Cashen, he doesn’t get enough credit these days…but Gentry’s comment is interesting.
