Why Announce Ticket Price Cuts On A Thursday In October?

Just curious…so here we are in the back offices in Flushing, and we have decided to lower ticket prices in 2010.

When should we release that information?

Why a random Thursday afternoon in October?

I could make a case that it’s an off-day for the Mets and Yankees, so the sports section will be light tomorrow, as will the morning newsradio sports updates.  So the news will get out.

Then you cycle through “hockey starts”, “Mark Sanchez” and then the Yankees playoffs…so it’s the last window for a while.

However, I keep thinking about this Reyes hamstring tear.  His agent says he will be ready for spring training. Of course the agent says that.

Part of me is wondering if someone decided to change the story, like they do in Washington D.C. (The politicians not the baseball team).

I know Amazin’ Avenue says I jumped the shark (good one) but we’ll see who is playing SS on April 5th.

Release the news today?  I guess it almost makes sense.  Just seems out of nowhere.

Metsblog has a letter that went out to season plan holders about the ticket cuts.  I haven’t gotten it yet.

Metsblog also is going with the story that Jose Reyes will be “100 percent” on Opening Day.   I’m sure…the Mets have diagnosed every injury correctly so far.
