Is Black OK For Civilian Mets Wear?

Eric brings up some good points…

Eric has left a new comment on your post “Mets and Yankees Sweatshirts From The Mlb.com Shop…“:

I‘m with you that the Mets should be rocking their traditional orange and blue on the field. Tradition belongs on the baseball field.

But, in my daily clothing wear, I don’t have much interest in bright blue and orange clothing. At least the Yankees have dark blue… we have bright blue. I mean come on… does anyone look good in bright orange?

Heck, this is NYC… we wear black! So, I’m ok with the alternate black clothing lines for us fans while still completely agreeing that the actual NY Mets should be wearing the traditional colors.

Mets blue and orange looks good if you are actually playing.  As a civilian it doesn’t look so cool (like my move from civilian-wear pinstripes to pinless).    However the blue/black looks ugly too.  Maybe a move toward the original Casey Stengel blue might help the civilian wear.

I think most of us agree on the no-black on-field…what would your choice be for civilian wear?

  1. I think the average Mets fan looks a lot better in the Mets' black jersey than in the pinstripes.

I also think that black is a much friendlier t-shirt color choice than orange.
