Thinking about Mets Museum and Opening Day

I started thinking about the Mets Museum this morning.

Mets, I don’t think I’ve actually ever asked for something.  Until now.

When you have the press gathering to show off the Mets Museum I’d like to be invited.  I’ve proven myself to be honorable with you (maybe annoying, but honorable) and I bet right now my recap will be something like “I came away excited, feeling good.  It’s smaller than I thought, and there could be more about xxx but overall it’s very nice.”   Consider this my official request.   I think it would be good for you and for me if I had a nice long post that got people jazzed about the museum.   Whatcha think?

Anyway, I was thinking about getting together a small gathering of fans for Opening Day.  Maybe we meet by the Seaver Statue, I mean by the subway station, a half hour before the gates open.  We wear our Mets jerseys (you can even wear black even though I will take your picture and make fun of you) and all walk into the Mets Museum together.  Do I expect thousands of Mets fans to join me?  Nope, but even five of us hanging out would be cool, especially if we all wear blue caps.  Just a thought, lemme know if any interest, and I’ll announce something “official” down the road.

  1. Wow thats random, I actually randomly had the thought this morning, and had no idea MB had posted a picture of it. Must be something in the air! I'm psyched.

  2. I think you'll definitely see interest in this idea. I know alot of fans I talked to are really excited to see the Museum/Hall of Fame. Perhaps bill it as the first act of the Blue Cap Army?

  3. Yeah Jason, that's what I was thinking – and as I said I don't expect thousands of folks to join, but hey even 10 of us would be fun – and say we got "40" of us to all walk in wearing blue caps. It would be a fun pic if nothing else.
