Pictures of the corrected Game 7 fanbrick and Shea’s Apple in new home

Thanks to Shawn for sending these two pictures in.  First is the corrected Game 7 brick.

I know some of you will be curious to compare so here’s the link to the original post with the old brick. I am in a good mood and choose not to dwell on the past – although Dave Howard still needs to give me a better quote about obstructed views before I give up that fight.

Shawn also sent over Shea’s Apple as I have started calling it at its new home.

It looks good doesn’t it?  Make that great.

I’m tempted to ask how it went from being so fragile that it needed to be replaced rather than used like once a game to being sturdy enough to be out in public where hooligans could climb on it, but I am in a good mood so I won’t.

Speaking of pictures, Corey has the first glimpses of the museum! (fixed link)

That’s it for me for the night, I have some DVR emptying to do.

  1. It’s funny, now it doesn’t say who got the win, although rightfully it still highlights Sid’s big impact.

I love the Apple, and it’s cool and unique, I just thought that the middle of the flowerbeds is where we would be greated by an iconic statue of Seaver or Cleon or Piazza or Keith (I know, really everyone’s wants Seaver). I just hope when the do get around to puting up a statue, it’s RIGHT THERE and you don’t have to go searching the grounds or make a sidetrip every time you want to see it.

Meeting people at the Apple will definitely be a nice touch to game days.

    1. Hi folks – been out enjoying the sun and at 6 I will be working with some youngsters preparing Junior to be the #5 starter on the 2024 Mets (he’s lefty)

So far the Mets seem resistant to statue technology, but there’s plenty of space for a Seaver statue. If we all keep making noise about something the Mets have shown that they are listening. Other blogs echoing the call and guest posts help more than me writing about it for the 5000th time – although I probably will!

  2. Clearly us “cheesy apple” folks are out-voted on this site. It’s no less bush league, to me, in front of the rotunda. Here’s hoping they do replace it with a statue, sooner rather than later (although I still like the idea of having Mets’ HOFers sign it).

  3. Josh: I laughed at that too. I think I’m going to walk around and take pictures of some random bricks If i have the time Monday. My favorite is still the “step on this brick for a Mets win” one though.
