31 pictures inside the first base Champions Club at Citi Field

On Saturday, Media Goon hooked me up with some dugout seats, and I was able to get into the Champions Club.

I visited the first base side, and after the game I realized I should have gone in the one on the third base side as well

…but sometimes I wanna watch the game and not worry about the blog.

Anyways….here are some photos after the jump.

  1. The more I see these things, the more it seems like they are trying to turn sporting events into an afterthought compared to the clubs.

Impressive yes, but I am paying to see a baseball game!

  2. formerdirtdart …. i was thinking the same thing. i never liked the idea of the champions club location. lets take the best seats in the house and make it suits … plus it looks crappy on TV.

  3. Shannon, did you partake in the “Chefs Table Experience”? Sounds like crappy punk rock band.

    1. @randy. I did not eat in the champions club. Seemed like a nice place to grab a meal during a two hour rain delay, but if I wanted to sit down for food I would go to Friendly’s and then go home and watch the game on my big screen TV. I’m not anti clubs, but they do nothing for me.

      1. @Shannon Amen brother. Not to mention you can save a ton of cash. It’s like football. I’m sure the Giants have a nice new stadium but it can’t compare to my “executive suite” a.k.a. my living room.

  4. I checked out the Acela Club on Opening Day now that it’s open to ALL club members and semi-affordable. I’m thinking it might b e real fun to watch a pregame there. eat while watching the guys shag flies and take BP? I’m going to suggest it to my best man, who supposedly is planning me a party.

btw, I love that the Champions Club put in windows to the bar there that you can see from the field level concourse behind home plate. Makes the area seem more open.

  5. Might not be the best idea to highlight you only have 2 chanpionships (which I am grateful for) in 49 years.

    1. @jesse 2 championships. It is what it is. Why hide from it? Embrace history even if the history includes a mule and June 15, 1977. I dug that photo collection I put together the other day. It was my version of the story. I was surprised nobody nitpicked “why didn’t you include xx”
