The 1992 New York Mets Yearbook Cover

You know it’s about time this franchise did something. Finally – we got ourselves a sure Hall of Famer to play first…Bonilla and Saberhagen both look like they are on their way and Torborg is the right guy to lead this team to the future! I mean Saberhagen could win 3 games in his sleep. Bonilla can carry a team by himself – plus they can restructure his contract so that they don’t even have to pay him until the far off future! We haven’t even mentioned Doc and man those uniforms look sharp!

I’m renewing my 1992 tickets right now!

Be careful what you wish for Mets fans.

  1. I always thought of this yearbook cover as the “turn the page” point for the Mets, trying to cut ties with the Mets teams/players of their recent past. Absent from the cover are Gooden, Hojo, El Sid, and Cone. They replaced those guys with these supposed great free agent signings. This also was about the year the Mets really got big into the free agent market That was 18 years ago, and the Mets still can’t get free agency right. They are still overpaying for players.
