Right now if its Melvin/Collins I go with Melvin.
He at least got a club to the playoffs – and they say Collins is good with teaching – leave him in the minors then and help teach fundamentals – they cannot throw this guy out there and the first question he’s asked is about a club quitting on him.
You cant have the manger sputtering defensively at his press conference which is supposed to be a feel good moment for the club, not in this market.

For the record, I don’t want y’all to think I’m on an anti-Collins crusade. I don’t know anything about him except what I read. As I discussed a few times recently the losing-the-clubhouse worries me.
As Jerry Seinfeld would say, “Bob Melvin. Hmm.”
