Today the Mets and Citi launched the thrid annual Citi Field Kids with a behind the scenes tour led by Mets players. Twenty-five kids from the Sunnyside Community Services after school sports program.
The kids got to get signed baseballs, ask questions, and meet the players.
The players that gave the kids the tour were R.A. Dickey, Jose Reyes, Josh Thole, Bobby Parnell, Mike Pelfrey, Dillon Gee, and manager Terry Collins. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun and were really excited to be there.
Citi Field kids provides NYC students with a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience,combining baseball and education before six baseball games each season. It is conducted with the cooperation of the Mets, Citi, The Jackie Robinson Foundation, and The Neighborhood Houses Of NY.
