  1. Better get over to “Amazing Avenue” and check out what they have to say about the “Dreaded Black”

  2. that amazin’ avenue article was extremely weak. nostalgia as the main reason? if that’s the case, then why shouldn’t a blackless look be considered. or is one generation’s nostalgia more valuable than another’s.

i keep saying this about the “well…those ’99 and ’00 teams were awesome!” argument about the black uniforms: just because something historic happened while you looked like crap doesn’t make it a good look. it just means history happened while you looked like crap. they don’t take ventura’s grand slam single away if they eliminate the black uniforms. it was a mark of the time and the fashion trend in baseball. now…that’s over.

also, i have yet to find one person who can debate that the reason it seems like the black sells more is because people want solid-colored stuff to wear in social settings. black mets shirt/jersey at a bar looks better than white pinstripes. that’s why you see so many navy yankees tees at games and out and about. it doesn’t mean it should change the on-field look. plus alternates sell. true story. because it’s different. look at the cream. it’s sold very well and literally the only change over the white pinstripe from ’98-’09 is a slight tweak in fabric color.
