SNY to air Kiner documentary and 1986 Mets player feature segments

SNY put out one of those “yeah we know all this” type press releases that companies enjoy doing, but here’s something….

Hall-of-Famer Ralph Kiner will return to the broadcast booth for his 50th season covering the Mets as a contributing analyst. SNY will premiere a documentary honoring the legendary player and broadcaster during the 2011 season to commemorate his 50th season with the Mets organization. Additional details on the Kiner documentary will be announced at a later date.

I hope the Kiner doc gets into some of this stuff. Touch ’em all Ralph, you deserve it.

In addition, SNY will honor the 25th anniversary of the 1986 World Champion New York Mets with a season-long tribute. As part of the celebration, SNY will bring back members of the 86ˊ team to join the telecast every home-stand for a “where are they now” feature. Additional details and other programming honoring the 1986 New York Mets team will be announced at a later date.

How I Met the Mets was not mentioned.
