WRIGHT INTO THE RECORD BOOKS: David Wright collected his 89th career game-winning RBI with his 10th-inning RBI single last night, to tie Mike Piazza for first place in team history.
DAVID GOES DEEP: David Wright hit the Mets first home run of the year, a solo home run in the fourth inning off Ricky Nolasco…Wright has four home runs in 50 career at-bats against Nolasco…Wright hit the club’s first home run in 2010 when he took Florida’s Josh Johnson deep in the first inning on Opening Day…Wright hit a home run in the first series of the year the last time the Mets began the season in Miami (April 2, 2008 – in the third game of the season).

TERRY COLLINS: Mets Manager Terry Collins won his first game as a member of the Mets and his first major league victory since August 23, 1999 when he guided Anaheim to a 6-5 win over Detroit.
EXTRA INNINGS: The Mets earned their first extra-inning win of the year last night…New York went 7-9 in extra-inning games in 2010, including 3-6 on the road.

COME-FROM-BEHIND: The Mets trailed 2-0 after the first inning but rallied to win, 6-4, in 10 innings…New York posted 21 come- from-behind triumphs in 2010…The Mets were 17-54 when the opponent scored first last year.

GAME TWO: The Mets improved to 25-25 in the second game of the season and 11-7 following an Opening Day loss.
DAVIS DOUBLES: After finishing second among all rookies last year with 33 doubles, Ike Davis collected two doubles last night…Davis’ 33 doubles last year were the second-most by a Mets rookie in a single season.

THE BULLPEN: Last night, righthanded reliever Blaine Boyer notched his second career save closing out the Mets 6-4, 10-inning win…Boyer’s other save prior to last night was May 14, 2008 with Atlanta at Philadelphia…For the second straight year, Francisco Rodriguez blew his first save chance of the year, however the Mets won the game in extra-innings…Last year, Rodriguez couldn’t hold a 1-0, 19th-inning lead on April 17 at St. Louis…In that game, he picked up the win, when the Mets rallied to win…Rodriguez converted 25 of 30 save opportunities last year.

TWO-OUT RBI: The Mets had four two-out RBIs last night, including Josh Thole’s ninth-inning single to put the Mets ahead and Willie Harris’ two-run double to add insurance in the 10th-inning

ON THE ROAD: The Mets did not win their first road series of the year last season until June 11-13 when they swept the Orioles in Baltimore in a three-game set…New York was 5-17-4 in road series in 2010.
