24,865 see the Mets play the Rockies

via @AdamRubinESPN: Mets announced crowd: 24,865, if you’re keeping track.

I did a quick look at 2010 and I see 24,661 on 9/30/10…but I am half asleep.

Top 8 and the game just went to hell…Ya Gotta Believe but I Gotta Get 7 Hours Sleep.  G’night Mets fans.  This team could use a 2 game win streak in a hurry.

  1. Don’t bet on any winning streaks in the near future. What’s up with Collins’ handling of the bullpen? It seems like everyone is a “specialist” these days, facing just one or two batters and then he goes to another arm. Is that his way of trying to keep them fresh? But to me, you just can’t keep using 5 and 6 relievers every night. Of course, if his starting pitchers (Chris Young not included here) would simply throw strikes and get more efficient outs to pitch deeper into games Collins wouldn’t have to use the bullpen so often. And better still, if they had a pitching coach who knew how to do his job properly, maybe the whole staff would be better. Yet, here the Mets are, 2nd to last in ERA and walks allowed and, as of the 8th inning, have allowed 7 runs and 6 walks. And the beat(ings) go on……

  2. If All-Stars are traded at the deadline and no one’s in the stadium to see it, does it make a noise?
