Today’s Paid Mets Attendance: 22,232!!

22,232! I know it’s Easter and all but 22,232! On a Sunday!

While the Mets have updated their website to not include dates in the past, back in November I listed April 24th as a Sunday+ plan date. I assume it still was, and I’m sure you guys will let me know.

Anyways – 52.9% full today. I believe 22,232 to be the new Citi Field low but that’s unresearched so don’t quote me.

  1. Lowest scheduled date. Make-up night half of D/N DH last June vs. San Diego was 14,000+. Niese pitched the one-hitter that night. Today there were two one-hitter authors, Niese and Galarraga (some one-hitter) but I guess it wasn’t a draw.

    1. 14,733, June 10th. I would be willing to bet that number was awful close to the total number season/plan ticket holders for the original Wednesday game date.

The original reported ticket number was 28,072. But, was corrected a month or so later. I imagine the 13,339 change was a result of the original game date being one of the free ticket dates handed out for the weather disrupted games in April.

  2. If the Mets play well this season, attendance should improve next year. If not…

Either way, they’d do well to simplify & tweak the price structure some more if they want to fill more seats.
