A Mets Web Site About Nothing – NYTimes.com

Oh man I saw the Times headline and I was like, “Hey my site is about nothing!!” and got all excited.  Alas, it is about nonohitters.com

On the Web site, each of the Mets’ 35 one-hitters — five of which were thrown by Seaver — is accompanied by box scores and game summaries written by Lammers. Also featured are pitchers who threw no-hitters before or after their time with the Mets.

  1. the games were never televised because the tix sales went to sand lot base ball groups in the tri-state area.between 1964 and 1974 i attended ever one! as a daily news paper boy i would choose the tix as a my prize from time to time.a friend of mine was a bat boy and he told me the players would hope it would be rained out!!

in 1969 the game was palyed the night after the mets clinched the division title, the next morning, they recorded the “amazin mets album”

i have seen pictures of them drinking champange in the studio during the session.
that must have been one hazy mayors trophy game line up that night
