  1. This is no ordinary FOX Saturday Baseball promo, but it is from the very first Saturday that FOX would broadcast MLB games. The game in question would be a 4:00 pm game on June 1, 1996. The Mets indeed played the Dodgers this date and won 4-3. The winning run was driven in by a Chris Jones double in the 6th inning, scoring Roberto Petagine as the winning run (Remember them)

As pointed out in the clip this was the late game, so this was not the first MLB game ever televised by FOX. This would be the 3rd or 4th televised game as two other games were televised at the 1:00 pm slot (not seen in the NY and LA tv markets).

    The other were:
Cleveland Indians vs. Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee wins 2-1
Atlanta Braves vs. Cincinnati Reds. Cincinnati wins 3-2
Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners. Boston wins 6-5

The match-ups listed above are mainly based on memory, but I did check Google’s newspaper archive to confirm some of the matchups.
