The Post says: Stray dogs menace Mets fans at Citi Field

I like the work of Jeremy Olshan in the Post and the article does have a picture of a stray dog near Citi – but I personally have never seen a stray there.  Have any of you been “menaced” by dogs?

The stray dogs have been wandering across 126th Street from Willets Point’s no-man’s land of auto-body shops, and onto the stadium grounds for years, stadium security guards told The Post.

  1. saw a stray a few weeks ago. I left McFaddens and walked towards the train with the dog walking along me on 126th street. Never felt threatened by the dog. He was just looking for a place to pee and was exploring the area. To me it wasnt a big deal.

  2. I’ve been in the area after McFaddens, as well, quite a good number of times, at night, but do not remember seeing any strays.

  3. I’ve been barked at by the stray dogs a couple times, when we used to drive through Wilets Point to cut over to the GCP (was a great shortcut). This was way back at Shea.

  4. Stray dogs in the “Iron Triangle”? get outa here…

Obviously, Fred & Jeff Wilpon are personally at fault for this…

So, according to the article, a terrifyingly menacing pit bull/shepard/wolf-like creature charged at the ladies, rammed one of them. Yet, somehow they escaped without this vicious beast mauling them…

If I was a skeptic, I would reason that a big-ass greasy dog from the chop-shops ran over to say hello, and get pet…

Oh, and the NY Post apparently needed to fill column space today

  5. Since they can’t put “Butts in the seats” lets put “PAws in the Park”

Since nobody will be at the Mets / Marlins games….All Stray dogs will be admitted free!

Gives new meaning to the “Dog Days of Summer”
