In 2011 the New York Mets wore ten (10) separate uniform/cap combinations. I have chosen to not include the September 11th commemorative flag additions as a separate uniform combination.
Home Uniforms:
Variations of the “official” Home White uniforms (snow whites) were worn 43 times (~53%)
— White w/Blue caps (31); White w/Hybrid caps (10); White w/Stars & Stripes caps (2)
Pinstripe Alternates were worn 25 times (~31%)
Home Black Alternates were worn 10 times (~12%)
Blue jerseys were worn 3 times (~4%)
— Los Mets w/Blue caps (2); and the Batting Practice jersey was worn once (1) in a (bleep) combination with the Black Alt cap
Road Uniforms:
The “official” Road Grey uniform (Grey w/Hybrid caps) was worn 36 times (~44%)
Variations of the Road Black Alternates were worn 45 times (~56%)
— Black Alt w/Black caps (44); Black Alt w/Stars & Stripes caps (1)
As can be seen, numbers show the Road Black Alternate uniform was in fact the primary road uniform for 2011.

Great job all season long by Walt. He sent over this 2011_Mets_Uni-Calendar PDF which if you open it and click on it you’ll get the gameboxes for each individual game, along with a mini-image of the game…very cool and worth a click.

I’m impressed that Walt kept track all season.
Going by win/loss record, blue caps & pinstripes should be removed from the uniform rotation, and black uniforms should not be worn on the road.
(The only part that doesn’t depress me is the thought of ditching the black road unies.)

Yeah I think it was September. Happened all of a sudden….2nd game of a DH if I recall.
August 29th, 2nd game of a home double header against the Marlins.
I was listening to Rob Dibble on MLB Radio on XM. And totally agree every team should sear somewhere on their jerseys a USA flag. instead on their chest i like to see somewhere on their sleeve i also would like the old look at the Mets first Jerseys with the logo of MLB baseball I think everyteam should have them but this is just my feelings what does the rest of you think. I like still the blue pinstripes at home all the time and road should go for two jerseys the road greys and the blue tops with Mets in script not Los Mets.

I’ll stand by my numbers. That is one of the reasons I used in-game pics for the calender. Well, that, and I think it looks pretty good.
I would love to see a “Retro”, Number only on the back, version for 2012! Know the #, then you know the name!

Mets record when wearing black anywhere in their uniform –
59-46 (.562 winning percentage)
Mets record without black –
18-40 (.310 winning percentage)
Other statistical analyses be damned. The Mets would have won the wild card by one game by wearing black every game.
So, to win at home the Mets need to totally ditch the blue cap because there must be black in the cap (either totally or in the combination)and the wearing of the blue (and the pins)stands in the way of winning! Also, only grey on the road but must still have black in the cap. 🙂
