Mets got a $40 million loan from MLB in past 6 weeks

Nope, this isn’t an accidental re-post of old news.  I got home at 7, my new jersey arrived, and then I checked twitter and boom – the Mets got another $40 million loan. Cue more negativity.

The team described the arrangement as a “bridge loan,” meant to aid them as they try to raise money through the sale of minority stakes in the club.

If this is before 9pm be sure to watch Seaver on MLB Network at 9.  I heard some clips on the way home and they were awesome.

And seriously – those of you who compared Reyes to Seaver need to compare Jose’s waaaahhh they didn’t call me to Seaver’s crying at the goodbye press conference.  The clip is part of the special.

  1. Sounds like a cash flow.problem. Could mean that season ticket &bring spring training ticket sales are awful!….I know Spring Training sales are bad! They are even looking to get another team share the complex with them!

That’s what you get when you RAISE SPRING TRAINING TICKET PRICES & you know you are putting a crappy team on the field.

At 10:00AM on Sat at the Mets fan store at the stadium on PSL for the Mets Holiday Sale there were only two people! myself & my girlfriend.

Not sure if the weather was bad (raining) or of people ares pissed of at them and boycotting the team!

    1. I just got home, so I’ll watch Seaver on DVR later…but there are two types of people in the world Rich…Met fans who have been true through everything over the years and will attempt to survive the current state of the team due to their love of the Mets…and the majority of the population who is avoiding this mess like the plague. I fear I am in that masochistic minority. I’ll be around, but voicing total disapproval.

    2. These comments annoy me. Just because you don’t like the owners or the team, doesn’t mean you’re boycotting it. You can not show up to games or by T-shirts, but that’s exactly what it is. That isn’t a boycott. You don’t have a natural right to a good baseball team nor does boycotting it do anything in the grand scheme of life.

If I stop going to McDonald’s after March because they stop selling the Shamrock Shake or the McRib, is that a boycott? Or am I just not going to McDonald’s? You may not like how they are running the team, no one does, but if it isn’t anything morally or ideally wrong, it isn’t boycotting. You’re not standing up for anything.
