I ran into Pete – owner of the wonderfully hideous Piazza Mercury Mets jersey. He was there with his family and what does the son of a Mercury Mets jersey owner wear? Why not a classic Mets pillbox cap!
While waiting to meet Mr. Seaver the guy behind me had this cap ready to be signed
Speaking of Seaver, it was a little weird to me waiting to meet him while one of the monitors was showing the press conference when he was traded

Pete’s son is completely stylin’! Those new patches do look great. I may have to pick up a pinstripe… question is, who’s name on the back?
Thanks Dan! I will definitely have to don the Mercury jersey at a game this upcoming season. It might be the only thing worth seeing at Citi Field this year (other than Banner Day of course).
and (pure speculation) looks like that’s memorial day weekend. I was told 6/17 is something else. All unofficial and unconfirmed.
