  1. Honestly, Shannon, what it cries for is a mayor that values small businesses and basic infrastructure than throwing public money at glamor-puss things like more sports stadiums.  The Iron Triangle has employed far more people than the “multi-use” stuff they’re talking about ever could.  New York’s city government has ignored the Triangle for eve

There are scenes like this all over New York City, places that Bloomberg will bulldoze before he  helps the people who live and work on them.

    A sports bar?  Really?

It’s so anti-American to tell a small-business owner “give us your building and land for a price we’ll set.  We won’t provide basic city services to pressure you more.  We’ll promote the idea that you run a dirty business and that somehow the conditions are your fault.  We’ll get tons of sports fans to hate you for standing in the way of their team.”  Or, given what happened in Brooklyn with the Ratner mess, maybe it’s very American.  Very New York City.

Love ya, Shannon, from obscure DS9 and BSG references to Springsteen to your shepherding of the anti-black-uniform forces.

But encouraging Bloomberg to abuse eminent domain laws and waste more taxpayer dollars when he could have treated these businesses with respect (you know — paved streets, plumbing, sewers — respect)…that’s harsh.

    1. I’m glad you follow all the obscure references.

I really don’t care what the businesses are…I guess you’ve nailed it that paved streets and a nice looking auto parts store also accomplishes the point.
