Last night’s Mets food event at Citi Field (behind the scenes)

As I told several Mets executives (that makes them sound so formal) I thought last night was the greatest event for a blogger. There was plenty to take pictures of and plenty to talk about. As I put it, I actually don’t want to talk to David Wright, I’d rather talk about this stuff.

Honestly, all the food was delicious. This is the part where some of you start calling me a sell-out. No, the food was delicious. All really tasty. I dug these wings which I will tell you about in a later post…

And this chicken sandwich was awesome and has quite the kick

But the best item of all…well that’s for the next post.

I had several nice conversations with “Mets executives” which were, you know, normal personal conversations about our lives so I’m not going to blog about that. They know who they are and I enjoyed seeing them and talking with them.

Most of the usual suspects of bloggers were there. Man we’ve come a long way from the first time the Mets had the bloggers over for dinner and we were kind of half-expecting the death squads to take us out or at least a stern lecture from Jeff. Nope, the Mets have been nothing but great.

Unfortunately I had to split after an hour to handle a personal situation so I don’t know how the rest of the night went. I will be checking out the other blogs (try On The Black, Ceetar and Ted Quarters for sure – sorry no links, walking down the street at 8am and trying to knock out a day of blogs).

I consider myself quite fortunate to have started a dopey blog about my favorite baseball team that somehow invites me to such things. I expect nothing and am grateful for all these adventures.

Thanks to the Mets for having me over and I’m happy I can share these photos.

Now who wants some cake?
