Checking In on Attendance Figures – NYTimes.com

Announced attendance at Citi Field is almost precisely at the same level it was last year. The Mets’ ticket sales have averaged 28,737 a game after 15 home games. The Mets have introduced dynamic pricing, which allows them to raise or lower ticket prices depending on demand. So it is possible that some tickets the Mets have sold were for less than their original face value.

  1. It should be noted, that the first 15 ticket date (not games) covered 16 game. There was a single admission double header.
I bring this up because last years first 15 ticket dates also covered 16 games with a single admission double header.
While I have no documented data, I seem to recall the weather significantly rougher during a number of April’s games last year.
While the season started earlier, the Mets opened on the road, and did not play their first home game until April 8th (as opposed to April 5th this year). Yet the Mets played 13 home games on 12 ticket dates during April both this season and last.

    Always good to add context.

  2. I would think that the reduced ticket prices have alot to do with it.

Imagine how good the Mets would be if just one more person showed up to the park each night!

    The power of one!

  3. I’ve been to a few games and have watched many on t.v., and don’t buy any of these figures.

Unless everyone is on line at Shake Shack or inside Caeser’s Club watching game on t.v., lucky to have 15,000 people per game…

Those figures have to be way inflated
