51s might switch to affiliation with Mets – Sports – ReviewJournal.com

“The honest truth is right now we’re in a 30-year-old stadium with no player amenities and because of that we’re going to be at a disadvantage,” Johnson said.

Hey I’m fat and not that handsome, you wanna go see a movie sometime?  Because I really don’t think you can do any better.

  1. It’d stink for the Mets to have the AAA team two time zones away, but I’d love to have a legitimate reason to buy a 51s cap. 😉

  2. I am willing to wager that the Mets are playing hard to get for Syracuse since the Nats are going to either pull up theor stakes and head for a city closer to the parent club in DC. Rochmond, Va. comes to mind as a viable candidate since the Braves bolted for Gwinette Ga. years ago. I was told unofficially that the Mets will still be in AA Binghamton for the next 3 years and the Nats are with the Syracuse Chiefs til 2014….. However a post season run for the Nat-spos may have a bandwagon attraction way beyond the lovefest for Stephen and Bryce. The other problem the Mets had with Syracuse back in 2009 was the shoddy digital scoreboard but that has finally been replaced (via my county tax dollars) with a muchimproved scorboard. Of course the other issue is Tex Simone whoi who is more incompetent then the Wilpons believe it or not but text is almost worm food so he may not be a problem come next year
