I hate this post. I hate everything about it and I don’t want to write it.
Yesterday the collective greater Mets family got word that Shannon Forde of the Mets Media Relations department has stage IV breast cancer that has metastasized to her lymph nodes and bones.
Most of you won’t know her name or haven’t had the chance to spend time with her but she’s fantastic.
Do a quick twitter search of her name and look at the adjectives used. Nothing but the highest of high.
But our friend has cancer.
Shannon has been nothing but great to me and is someone I always enjoy being around. Shannon if you’re reading this I feel dropping an email doesn’t seem right so I’ll just give you a big hug when I see you next.
As for the rest of you…please support Hope Shines for Shannon. You will find a donation link at that page. There is also a Meet and Greet with several former Mets of note (Doc, Darryl, Alfonzo and others).
