Mets can help fix Hall of Fame snub by retiring Mike Piazza’s number | SILive.com

Show the baseball world the writers got it wrong by retiring Piazza’s number at Citi Field in 2013.

Take a break from price-gouging your customers on Opening Day tickets and actually take a stand for your fans, a legion that has clearly suffered enough after watching your franchise do absolutely nothing to improve itself for the upcoming campaign.

No. 31 belongs on the left field wall next to No. 41, No. 14 and No. 37.

  1. First take care of #8.
Gary Carter deserves it for making the Mets a winner in the ’80’s.
Yogi Berra deserves it for bringing knowledge to the Mets coaching staff in the ’60’s, and for taking over in 1972 for Gil Hodges.
It Aint Over ‘Till It’s Over … Yogi’s not getting any younger and is a true living legend.

  2. But Yogi is not a Met. He is legendary but he is deservedly honored by the Yankees. Gary and Mike are another story–their numbers should be on the wall.
