Me, selling hot dogs at Shea Stadium, name the year

The final thing I have to do for my upcoming ebook Send The Beer Guy is to add the pictures.  Osh41 hooked me up big time last night and I’m so excited to see this one.  That’s me, and from the bin I can tell I am selling hot dogs.

I guessed the year was 1987 but I was wrong.  Osh41 told me what year it was and how he determined it.  So eagle-eyed Mets fans – what year is this photo taken and how did you figure it out?

Osh you made my day with this one. Now can you get my hair back to that color? I was young once.

The ebook should be available in a few weeks.

  1. Hmm. I guess they did a lot of rennovations in ’87. That fence and scoreboard have to be at least ’88 right?

  2. based on the jackets there, I think that’s early ’90s, so I’ll say 1993. Ceetar is right about the scoreboard, which debuted in 1988.

  3. The Newsday sign in RF????

  4. I’m not sure of the year, but I wonder if the beer cup is a clue.

    • Was 1988…new scoreboards are the clue. That and Osh41 said the pic said 1988 on the back

      • Aaah. I do remember the scoreboards being new — my family went to Tom Seaver Day — just couldn’t tell if it was the first year. Wish I had personal pics or memories of the few games I went to before ’88 and the scoreboards.
