Mets Name Wright Captain

I am glad there isn’t going to be a “C” on the jersey, I hate, hate, hate, that look. It seems so out of place. Did I mention I hate it? Cool for Wright. And just remember what Shannon told you guys last year, face of the franchise.(For the most part I hate it when Shannon is right.)

From the @mets twitter feed- David Wright

“I take this seriously. We’ll all in agreement there won’t be a C on the jersey.”

“I was lucky I played with the Mets last captain Johnny Franco. I learned a lot from my teammates.I’d like to speak with Johnny and Keith Hernandez to listen to any advice they might have for me.Wright. One of the proudest days of my career. To be viewed this way. It’s a short list of guys who have been captain in our history.”

The direction the Mets are taking? Excited? Trying to revamp the game so outfielders aren’t needed?

“I try to lead by example. I’m crazy excited about the direction we are headed.”

At least the tickets for Opening day don’t start at $63. Wait? What? They do? Seriously? With no outfield? YEESH…

  1. I’m thrilled that he’s thrilled. Now, let his bat prove how thrilled he is. 🙂

  2. You know, I’ve been thinking about this $63 ticket. Maybe the Mets take all the stubs from the $63 seats and every inning they pull three names and those fans then get to play the outfield for an inning! It would justify the price and would ultimately be more entertaining and maybe we get lucky and find a diamond in the rough–then everybody wins.
