First look at 2014 Mets ticket prices and the 20 game plans

Let’s get right to what you want to know.  Prices.

20 game plan prices

Note these prices are from the 20-game plans page.  It’s possible that other plans have better prices or worse prices.  Same for individual tickets.

Looks like the Mets want me to pay $32 to sit in “my” seats on those summer Saturdays.  And $52 for the opener (hey that’s better than $63).

The 20 game plans are…

Weekend Plan A and B:  Opening Day, one Subway game, plus Friday, Saturday and Sunday games.

Build Your Own: you pick the games.

All plans include Opening Day, so presumably Build Your Own is Opening Day and Pick 19.

Now the good and bad of that is that all plans contain Opening Day.  The bad part is that Opening Day tends to be priced at a high rate (remember last year’s $63?).  I was thinking about blowing off the opener because of the price tag.  Also note that you might not get “your” seats for the Opener but they will try.  (Makes sense since there could be the guy who sits in “your seats” in Plan B and you never meet.)

  1. Still too high.
And what, no personal visit with Mr. Met?
    No personal parking space?
No introduction to sleazy financial advisors?
No ground floor opportunity for the Shea Mall?

  2. I know it was seven years ago now, and at Shea, but in ’06 couldn’t plan holders get tickets to *every* postseason game, if they so desired? It’s entirely possible I could be misremembering.

  3. Boy, these guys are starting early for next year. Let me see if I got this right. They want me to invest, without any changes in personnel, in a team that is double A at best!!! Then watch a bunch of players off the scrap heap break down in May and June leaving a gutted team for the rest of the season.
    Sound familiar????
How many years have you been putting up with that???
Then you’re left with tickets NOBODY WANTS or if you still go, sit with people who didn’t invest a dime and are there because the bought Wilpons Late Summer discounted tickets.
I thought you had enough of that, Shannon?
So what did I miss? Nothing.

The Mets are in the business of drawing people in to get us to eyeball their advertisers, buy food and merch. Their product just isn’t worth my time. Time is my most precious commodity and last 4 years I didn’t feel like spending it on Mets baseball.

  4. The new benefits require you to spend more money. I am going to get rid of my 20 game plan and go with the 10 game plan. I think you need you need to cut back until they spend more.
