Agreed, but that is also why if you are the Mets you make the move. Reyes fills a real need, and he’ll come cheap. Plus, for an organization that has repeatedly taken it on the chin since 2009, it would finally buy them some good will.
That’s a horrendous contract, but I agree with John. We need a quality SS, and who knows, the Blue Jays may be willing to eat a portion of that contract just to get out of most of it. Plus, Reyes is such a fan-favorite he’d put more fannies in the seats than just about any FA out there. And with no Harvey next year, that’s something to consider.
