Mets: NY Sport Teams Bloodlines

Hey guys, a lot of you know that not only am I big NY METS fan but I am also a huge NY RANGERS fan. I went to the Rangers game on Sunday (my first game at the fully renovated MSG) and I was impressed with the before the game video.

This video package talked about how important tradition is in their franchise and how the love of the NY Rangers is passed down from generation to generation of fans. “It’s not only in their blood, but in their bloodlines” was what the quote was at the end of the video (I might have paraphrased it a wee bit because I was just in awe of how much that video psyched me up). It got me thinking about the Mets and  bloodlines.

Now, I am not going to totally kill the Mets because they have been starting to embrace some of their tradition but nearly not enough of it. I want to see this franchise reclaim NYC like it had in the 80’s. I want this franchise to take more pride in its roots over last fifty one years. I want to see kids like my little Cousin Mets Police Jr have pride of being a Mets fan and not have fend off his friends about why he’s a Mets fan. If I ever have kids I want them to be a Mets fan and have pride in it also. I want my bloodline to be Blue and Orange in the summer. Yes, the Mets are having some tough times the last few years, but so did the Rangers. But at no time did I have to justify being a Rangers fan.

Fandom can be handed down from generation to generation. The Blue and Orange in one fans blood can become the Blue and Orange Bloodline for generations in a family. Keep the blood line going Mets.

To the Mets- Start a winning TRADITION and keep (and also start new ones) the bloodlines of NY Baseball fans Blue and Orange.
