Will the Mets wear Cinco De Mayo themed caps?

Back around March 17th I was shouted down by the internet for not appreciating this version of Mr. Met on the cap.

So, with Cinco De Mayo coming, a day when some folks celebrate heritage while some other folks oblivious to the meaning of the day will meet friends to enjoy some beverages, I was wondering if the Mets will be making a themed cap for Cinco De Mayo and what it might look like.

If the Mets are not making a themed cap for Cinco De Mayo I would be interested in learning more about the decision process behind celebrating one day with a themed cap and not the other.

While the two holidays have different origins, both have spilled over into some aspects of mainstream American culture although perhaps not in the most respectful ways.

Anyhow, many people enjoyed the version of Mr. Met with the green cap and the beard.  I am just curious if the Mets will make a version for Cinco De Mayo, perhaps with some sort of hat and facial hair as per the precedent for celebrating this type of day.

  1. metspolice I’d buy one to go with my leprechaun. Especially if it was Don Julio sponsored.

  2. metspolice You’d better believe I’d buy a cap with a chupacabra on it.
