41 Amazin’ ideas for the Mets #8: Camera Day

Here’s what we’re doing. We are crowdsourcing 41 ideas for the Mets. The ideas can be big or small. Email me your idea at [email protected]. Today’s idea is from Greg.

Camera Day – another promotion that they used to have years ago. Now, anyone with a smartphone or Ipod touch has a camera. Players roam the sidelines before a game. Snap away and have selfies with the players. A low cost promotion with payoff in good will.

  1. metspolice All of these ideas are really good. Any plans to package them up and send them to the Mets?

  2. .metspolice All of these ideas are good but the Camera Day idea is really good. Costs nothing, easy logistics, all fans will love it. #Mets

  3. STLMetsFan5 metspolice how about good player day where the lineup is filled with good players and makes everyone want to go to the park

  4. Seems like a good way to encourage positive interaction between fans & players. (But I bet it’s a no-go — we can’t add any extra “distractions” to the players’ pre-game routine.)

  5. In 1963, I went to the Mets, I believe first camera day.  I had my brownie fiesta with me.  The players waked around and the fans were let into the first few rows,  Unfortunately, those pics are gone (thanks, Mom), but I did go to the 1964 camera day and I have those pictures.  My favorite is Larry Bearnarth holding up our “Canarsie Loves the Mets” banner.  It was great, we could talk to the players and see them up close.
