Mookie Wilson announced for 2015 Queens Baseball Convention

QBC_logo_2015

Mookie Wilson will be joining us at the Queens Baseball Convention which will be held Saturday January 10th at McFadden’s Citi Field beginning at noon.

Mookie will take part in a one hour panel discussion, and then sign autographs for an hour (one item per person, the autograph is included as part of your admission).

We will also have a teammate of Mookie’s at QBc15.  This person is confirmed but we’re not ready to announce him yet (gotta spread out the buzz) – but we’re confident that this person is perfectly slotted right behind Mookie in any lineup.   This guest will also take part in a panel and do an autograph session included as part of your admission.

Also announced:

  • the return of The Greatest Discussion Of Mets Uniforms Of All Time, a panel moderated by Paul Lukas of Uni Watch
  • a lively debate of “Meaningful Games In September” – is that a good enough goal? Come take part in the discussion.
  • a discussion of the making of ‘86 Mets: The Movie
  • a Decades panel hosted by Darren Meenan (The 7 Line).   Every fan thinks his or her fandom is in the sweet-spot of being the best fan and having had the best fan experience. Fans representing the 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and 00′s discuss their persepctives.
  • The 2015 Gil Hodges Award presented annually by the QBC to a special figure in our team’s history whose memory will always warm our hearts, brighten our spirits and light our way.
  • The Mazzy Awards – Player of the Year, Mets Executive Of The Year, and some other silly awards we’ll make up as we get closer.
  • The Jersey Parade – wear your best (or worst) jersey and be commented on by our judges? Why?  It’s fun.

More announcement to come including more programming, special guests, VIP mascots, and the fun and games selections.

  1. michaelgbaron. Was Mookie ever interested in managing? Houston Sports talk said Astros will pursue Familla. Would they dangle Springer?

  2. THENATUREBOY1 I don’t see the Mets trading Familia, and I really don’t think they’re trading Springer.

  3. michaelgbaron. If we get Cuddyer on a 2 yr deal what does he bring to us and is he a piece solver to bring us to the next level?

  4. THENATUREBOY1 He stabilizes the outfield, brings a platoon option to 1B, element of stability and leadership to the clubhouse.

  5. michaelgbaron. in our all time Mets Lf debate do you feel Mcreynolds was better than Cleon Jones, George Foster, ?

  6. THENATUREBOY1 Cleon wins that argument, although McReynolds was quite good. Foster was past his prime here.

  7. michaelgbaron We are onto our Cp all time debate. Franco, Myers, Lockwood, Taylor, Mcgraw, Benitez, are in the debate. Who do you like

  8. michaelgbaron Do you feel there is more value in going forwardkeeping Flores; Reynolds for SS instead of a huge deal for say SS Russell?

  9. THENATUREBOY1 Well, the cost for a Russell type will be substantial. Have to evaluate what he would bring here along with subtractions.

  10. metspolice Just ordered the fix & t’s for the 2/3 of the #WynnTangClan that will be in attendance! #QBC2015 #LGM #METS cc: RageWynn
