if games started earlier, that sliver of Americans who live in the Mountain time zone or those out on the West Coast may not see the opening pitch, but, hey, they get to see the good part and they get a good night’s sleep, both.

Second question: If you ran a business and most of the customers lived over here, and not so many over there, wouldn’t you put your store where it was most convenient for the majority? Of course you would.

But the World Series and television don’t get that. Almost half of Americans live in the Eastern time zone.

And while we’re chatting, why is it that everyone’s favorite baseball announcer is Vin Scully, who does the games solo, but every BIG GAME telecast has three announcers, two sideline reporters and over the top special effects (looking at you Fox).

No amount of cartoon lineup graphics is going to get my wife to watch this game tonight.  Just show the game.
