The Mets actually had a good day for once

I found myself thinking about the Mets a lot last night. They actually had a good day for once.

It has been a long time since they had a good day.

They usually top-out at “ok” days, but yesterday was actually good. Everyone loves deGrom (my computer still wants that word to be “legroom”) and they signed an Actual Major Leaguer.

Now, I’m still not buying a ticket plan because they taught me last year to just hang around for the cheap deals that undercut the prices I was paying. If the Mets make the playoffs I’ll either (a) just figure it out, or (b) the past has shown they will issue some sort of “playoffs plus 2016 tickets” thing. Anyway, let’s play some Meaningful Games In August before we worry about any of that.

Meanwhile, I found myself dreaming about Matt Harvey all night.  I’m looking at the media choices he makes – the bizarre Bloomberg interview to plug some juice thing, and then the GQ thing that the MSM hasn’t noticed yet even though I posted it Sunday.  Something just doesn’t feel right.  This feels like a guy who wants to market His Brand (he basically said so) a little too much, a little too early.  I’m having trouble putting it into words (help me Greg Prince!) but I’m watching this story with this face.
