By the way, in the article the idea of DL’ing someone is mentioned.  Can you just do that if I guy isn’t hurt?  I know you can always make up some crap, but say Matt isn’t hurt and doesn’t want to play along.  Say Matt would rather take his starts and thus win more games thus increasing his future value, can the Mets just say “oh yeah you have a blister” and DL him and turn say a 16-5 season into a 14-5 season?  Would the union stand for that?

  1. Harvey maybe just might want more starts to get more wins to help the team win and get into the postseason, not just increase his future value. I’m not sure he’s thinking as much about 2019 as we all seem to be.
