Two-Night Special Airs Back-To-Back Beginning Tuesday, June 30th At 10:30pm

[New York, June 23, 2015] – Reputations are on the line this summer as SNY will unite Mets long time broadcasters Gary Cohen (SNY) and Howie Rose (WOR) in a head-to-head competition against two teams of super fans to determine the indisputable masters of Mets trivia. Hosted by Chris Carlin, “Beat the Booth” with Gary and Howie, presented by Citi, pits the Mets two long-time broadcasters against two different teams of know-it-alls in four rounds of Mets trivia questions modeled after the most memorable game shows of yesteryear. Taped at the SNY studios in Manhattan, champions will be crowned Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1 with shows beginning at 10:30pm, following W.B. Mason Mets Post Game.

The lights have never been brighter as Beat the Booth will test each team’s knowledge with questions developed exclusively by the Elias Sports Bureau. The round-by-round game breakdown includes Terrific Trivia, a rapid fire round of far-ranging questions; Flushing Feud, where teams must guess the top six answers to a specific Mets trivia question; Meet the Met, “Guess Who” style trivia game where contestants are given clues in descending order of difficulty to try and guess the mystery Met; and Ya Gotta Believe, a contest reminiscent of the old “Pyramid” game show where one teammate provides clues to his partners who work to identify the correct answers.

The contestants for Beat the Booth were selected following one month of rigorous tryouts, concluding at the SNY studios on June 9th, where the winning teams beat out hundreds of fellow competitors to earn the right to compete against Gary and Howie. If either team of super fans is able to accomplish the seemingly impossible and defeat Gary and Howie, they will walk away not only with bragging rights, but also with a $5,000 cash prize. However, if Gary and Howie prove victorious, SNY will donate the prize money to charities of Gary and Howie’s choice.
