Must read: the other side of 126th street

spock

A few people sent this to me (thanks!!) and I highly encourage you guys to read it.  I won’t attempt a summary because I won’t capture the nuance, but the article involves the neighborhood across the street from Citi Field.  You know, the one the you know whos are developing.  The article describes some of the process as seen from the other side of the street.

You can read it, or we can just mindlessly tweet some social media All Star Game hashtag for three days, it’s up to you.

Why Did Mechanics In New York’s Worst Neighborhood Go On Hunger Strike?

  1. maybe in the dream world I’ve constructed no redevelopment will be allowed , the fallout is that the Wilpon’s then sell the team which they aren’t interested in using as a tool to win games but as a tool to develop their real estate interests.

and oh why oh why did that woman settle the harassment suit??  if i had the money i would have underwritten her just to have all of the dirty stuff in open court and maybe bringing real pressure on them to get out of town.

fyi – Fred very upset that his favorite team recently lost 2/3 to some team from NY he is mildly familiar with.
