The Mets couldn’t mess up a bar, could they?

Yes that’s a cheap-shot headline, but I’m paid to get attention.  Well I’m not paid at all, but I really want the bar to be awesome.

Home Run Apple has some thoughts on what he wants the bar to be, and has some photos of what they do in Fenway.

What do you want the bar to be?

  1. Not a chance it’s awesome.

If it was up to me, it’d be local/craft beers. (btw, Colorado actually has a brewery attached to Coors Field. Coors tests out experimental beers on Rockies fans. _That_ is awesome. It’s where Blue Moon was tested)

From my understanding of the other ones, it’ll be the normal taps of standard beers, and probably a regular bar that just happens to be attached to Citi Field.

If they were creative, they’d name the drinks though. (Red Bull and Vodka? The Reyes)

  2. Brooklyn Lager!! PLEASE!!! You know the Mets will screw this up somehow…nah I have to stop being so cynical. BLUE CAP ARMY!!!

  3. I think I posted this here a few days ago, but they should call the bar “The Happy Recap” named after Bob Murphy’s post-game phrase.

  4. Hopefully some Brooklyn Local 1 and 2 750mL’s, At least some Pennant Ale ’55 on tap, guys, c’mon!

  5. I don’t think the Mets will actually be running the bar anyway, McFadden’s will, so probably none of that stuff.

You can get Brooklyn Lager and so many awesome beers inside Citi Field though and at a surprisingly reasonable price considering NYC/Ballparks.
