2013 All Star Game jersey (mock version)

Media Goon has used Inception technology to enter my nightmares and bring this to life.  This is more or less what I fear the 2013 All Star Game jersey will look like.

Sunday Night Recap: July 18

We did another audio version of Mets Police tonight.  You can listen below, and we’ll do another one next Sunday at 6:30.  Topics covered included: Wayne Hagin, Mets Fan Panic, Santana the Ace, K-Rod and the shaky history of Mets closers, Old-Timers Day 2011, All-Star Game 2013 and is David Wright one of the Top

Mets All Star 2013 jerseys likely to look bad (opinion)

If the Mets do get the 2013 All Star Game I’m a little worried about the All Star jerseys.

Maybe I’ll get my wish and the Mets will drop BLACK for the 50th season in 2011, but assuming they won’t because you know, black sells – it’s not winning, it’s black….

Jeter and I have an Edge, Wright rules

What’s great about blogging is that I have a forum.

First the meat: David Wright rules. Two hits, a 5 game hitting streak in All Star Games, and he is a good face for the franchise. Clean cut, charismatic, never in trouble and he showed captain like behavior on Sunday when he took Reyes

Mets Police 70's Week: Lee Mazzilli the All-Star

A cool article from MLB.com remembering when Lee Mazzilli was in the All Star Game.

When Mazzilli was selected to the Midsummer Classic at age 24, many figured he would make a return trip to the game at some point in his career. But in 10 more seasons with five different teams, the outfielder and

The Wright All Star jersey the Mets are giving some fans

The Mets are enjoying social media tonight….they just invited people at the game to send tehir seat location to @newyorkmets for a chance to win an autographed David Wright jersey.   Here’s the pic they included.   Not awful but the black Mets ball patch gets mygoat.

Oh…THEY posted it sideways, it’s not just me that

  • My new favorite Met: #13 Mike Nickeas

Again, the site is having major problems…hence the funkiness….what totally sucks was today was gonna be “work ahead” day.  Oh well.

While I try to recover ALL the posts (doh!!!!!!) I’ll continue typing over here in the orange box.

So why is Mike my favorite Met?  Because I love the number thirteen.

(Actually my favorite Met is future Hall of Famer Jon Niese.  I intended to post today about “Mets I like” - but not having a blog at all is sort of screwing with the plan for the day)

FLUSHING, N.Y., September 2, 2010 – The New York Mets today announced they selected the contract of catcher Mike Nickeas from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.  To make room on the 40-man roster, the team transferred righthanded pitcher John Maine to the 60-Day Disabled List.  Nickeas will wear uniform #13 and will be available for tonight’s game in Atlanta.

Nickeas, 27, began the season at Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League, where he hit .283 (75-265) with five home runs and 33 RBI in 82 games.  The 6-0, 210-pound Nickeas joined Buffalo in late August, playing in seven games and hitting .214 (6-28).

The native of Vancouver, Canada originally was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the 2004 First Year Player Draft before being traded to the Mets on August 30, 2006 for outfielder Victor Diaz.

  • The site at metspolice.com is experiencing technical problems.

Remember those other 7,000 posts from the last three years?   Media Goon is down in the basement retyping them.

Until he finishes,I will use the Tumblr as a workaround.

metspolice.tumblr.com or just stare right here and ignore that white space on the left.   Might be a while…
