Who owns this Los Mets Heilman jersey? Anthony does.

Hmmm, I’m starting to think people actually read this darn thing.  I have heard from Anthony!

HA! As an avid reader with a decent Mets jersey collection, I suspected I’d someday be one of the many backs you’ve featured on the site. A face shot though — now THAT’S a high honor! I’ll have you know

You own this Los Mets jersey: Heilman!

Ceetar from Optimistic Mets fan was kind enough to let me pick from his (much better than mine) photos from the other night.

You know how I do this “You own this Mets jersey” series?  This guy is gonna be tough to beat.  It’s LOS METS and Heilman.

Who buys either one of those never mind combine

'Los Marlins' are annoying to look at

JMP sent this in….

Shannon-
I know you hate the “Los Mets” jerseys with a passion, for completely justifiable reasons.

Of course, this week, the Mets and Marlins are playing a series in Puerto Rico. In honor of being in a Spanish-speaking locale, the Marlins are wearing their “Los Marlins” jerseys, which are (like the “Los Mets” jerseys)

Guest Post: Los Mets jerseys

Over the weekend I asked Randy from The Apple if he would be kind enough to provide a guest column about Los Mets jerseys with a perspective different than mine.

Here’s Randy:

When Shannon asked me to chime in with my opinion on the whole Los Mets thing I wasn’t sure I even had one. As

Los Marlins

Marlins Executive:   Thanks for coming.   We need to come up with some ideas to increase attendance.   To recap, we’ve won two cahmpionships since 1992 and have had fine players like Mike Piazza, Carlos Delgado and Al Leiter but we still can’t draw a crowd.   I thought if we called ourselves “Florida”

No "Los Mets" jerseys in Arizona (Daily News)

A Daily News article has a team official saying the Mets will not wear the Los Mets jerseys when they travel to Arizona.

Fans of Los Mets jerseys can look forward to August 13th and September 17th when the Mets will remind everyone that the English jerseys should have the word The on them.

Should the Mets go political and wear Los Mets jerseys in Arizona?

I stand by my ground that I can’t stand the Los Mets jerseys.  Why?  They make no sense.  It would be like wearing jerseys that say “The Mets.”  The teams in the Mexican League have jerseys that say “Tigres” not “Los Tigres” so I’ll use that as my argument.

However, JMP threw out something very interesting

  • My new favorite Met: #13 Mike Nickeas

Again, the site is having major problems…hence the funkiness….what totally sucks was today was gonna be “work ahead” day.  Oh well.

While I try to recover ALL the posts (doh!!!!!!) I’ll continue typing over here in the orange box.

So why is Mike my favorite Met?  Because I love the number thirteen.

(Actually my favorite Met is future Hall of Famer Jon Niese.  I intended to post today about “Mets I like” - but not having a blog at all is sort of screwing with the plan for the day)

FLUSHING, N.Y., September 2, 2010 – The New York Mets today announced they selected the contract of catcher Mike Nickeas from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.  To make room on the 40-man roster, the team transferred righthanded pitcher John Maine to the 60-Day Disabled List.  Nickeas will wear uniform #13 and will be available for tonight’s game in Atlanta.

Nickeas, 27, began the season at Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League, where he hit .283 (75-265) with five home runs and 33 RBI in 82 games.  The 6-0, 210-pound Nickeas joined Buffalo in late August, playing in seven games and hitting .214 (6-28).

The native of Vancouver, Canada originally was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the 2004 First Year Player Draft before being traded to the Mets on August 30, 2006 for outfielder Victor Diaz.

Remember those other 7,000 posts from the last three years?   Media Goon is down in the basement retyping them.

Until he finishes,I will use the Tumblr as a workaround.

metspolice.tumblr.com or just stare right here and ignore that white space on the left.   Might be a while…
