Mets Yearbook 1976 was on SNY today and I grabbed a couple of screen shots of the Mets wearing those Pittsburgh Pirates-type caps with the stripes along the top. I can’t remember if there had been a debate on this, but it does appear they wore them at the very least on Opening Day

I know, I know, 15 straight nights of this – how will you live without it.  Don’t worry you will.

I have saved a good one for last.  Ladies and Gentlemen, the inexplicable “Motto” cap.

This “TC Tonal Ace” cap looks ok in the picture, might even look nice on your friend Steve.  You do have a friend named Steve, right?

Anyway – this would look good on Steve unless he were actually a New York Met.  If he were a Met I would complain about the NY not popping much

This is called an “Overlay” cap and I cannot find any words…

Imagine being a dog.  Dog’s cannot see color.  I don’t know if that’s actually true but it helps my narrative.

Now go back to imagining you are a dog and your owner buys you a Mets cap.  It would look like this….the “sub-zero MLB Franchise” cap.

Two words that should never be used when describing a Mets cap.  Askew and Collider.  This is the 47 Brand “Askew Collider.”

Tonight I have two caps….why do the Expos have a better looking cap?   Top to bottom it’s better….the “eb/M” is better than the Mets baseball and the color is just better.  Better being a relative term.  Having 6 months to live is “better” than having three.
