Red Sox Banner Day: a guide for the Mets

Ok Dave, let’s do this.

The Boston Red Sox and NESN are asking all fans coming to the Sunday, Sept. 4 matchup against the Texas Rangers to bring signs that demonstrate their passion and support for the hometown team. Fans are encouraged to bring poster-sized signs that express their love for the Sox, Fenway Park or their favorite player. Everyone who participates will have a chance for their sign to be broadcast on NESN, and one lucky fan will be selected to win an incredible prize package.

NESN’s Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy will serve as judges and select the winning sign.  …

Ticket holders to the game on Sunday, September 4 can participate in the contest by bringing a sign from home or by creating a sign at Fenway Park at one of the five sign-making stations around the ballpark. Fans can display their signs for NESN’s cameras during the first six innings of the game. The winner will be selected in the 7th inning, and he or she will come up to the NESN booth for an in-game appearance with Don and Jerry.

Signs must be no bigger than 2 feet by 3 feet and must be capable of being folded (or rolled) and stored at the participating fan’s seat.  Fans can visit NESN.com/signs for the complete contest rules. Continue reading “Red Sox Banner Day: a guide for the Mets”

Crowd shots from Tuesday Mets-Marlins

Here with @mediagoon and I have a row to myself in promresinf. He’s off shopping.

MP Mom is with us and she wants to get a jersey and ruled out black. On her own. (she has my seats and I did the buy one bring 3 kids).

Here’s 5th pitch

And shortly before the game

It’s empty. And don’t forget it’s a Saturday+ because why wouldn’t you want a Tuesday with your weekend.

My littlest is already bored in Top1. That’s why I never bring you my love.

I like this sentiment.

..and don’t forget orange Mets jerseys

@toninom was sticking up for the orange jerseys last night and was mad/surprised I don’t have one.  I was out of work that year…no orange jersey for me.

I like orange Mets-wear even though it looks terrible on me. I do have a burnt orange Wright.

I dislike the underarm stuff on all BP jerseys and also NFL jerseys.

Speaking of jerseys, since today is Saturday (so says my tickets) I am going to rock the Undefeated Mazzilli jersey tonight at Citi. If you see a fat guy in a Mazzilli jersey it’s me.

Actually if you see ANYONE EVER in a Mazzilli jersey it’s either me or Lee Mazzilli, and you’ll know it’s Lee because you’re at Old Timers’ Day.

Banner sighting at Citi Field

@del2327 was crushing last night…a busy night for a seemingly empty stadium.

That white square is something called a “banner.”

In olden days Mets fans would make these and sometimes gather in a parade.

I’m tempted to continue but I will just no-look-pass to @coreynyc
