Formerly New York Giants trophy in next week

I’m late on this but I’d feel bad if I didn’t let you know.  On the 21st (Friday) the trophy will visit the site of The Polo Grounds.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Saturday), the Giants will display the trophy at the Hilton New York, where fans can have their photograph taken with it. From 3 to 5 p.m., the trophy will visit Finnerty’s in the East Village, which calls itself the largest San Francisco Giants bar in New York.

“It was frustrating because my interviews went really well and I thought I was going to get it,” he said. “And to come that close to getting your dream job … It’s tough, because I know what I could do.”That’s no slight at Terry, who I’ve known a long time. He’s a good baseball man and he’ll do a good job. But I was hoping it was finally my time.”

Wally also says it would be a tough order to ask him to coach.  He considers himself a manager.

The article also shows lots of black Mets uniforms and the full-black caps.  Maybe the Mets won’t be using them and shipped the old unis down to Florida.

Daily News cover: Seaver traded to Reds

Well it has been nearly a week of trying to bully Osh41 into handing in his long-awaited new episode of a look back at Mets uniforms. So far he has resisted seeing Seaver on Boston, Chicago or even as a Yankees announcer.

It’s time to hit him where it hurts.

Osh, you remember June 15, 1977 don’t you?

Bobby V to run Police and Fire departments

Nope, it’s not a link to The Apple…this one is a real story.

The former New York Mets manager will be overseeing the city’s police, fire, and health departments.

The good news is I am confident Randy at Apple will do some awesome photoshopping with this premise.

I think we can also make jokes about Willie Randolph’s fire department: no way this building burns down, we’ll be fine.
