By now you’ve read that TBS missed the start of the game last night.
Two circuit breakers in our Atlanta transmission operations tripped causing the master router and its backup – which are necessary to transmit any incoming feed outbound – to shut down. This impacted our live feed from being distributed to any of the other networks in the Turner portfolio and caused the delay in our coverage. Both our primary and backup routers were impacted by this problem. We apologize to baseball fans for this mishap that caused a delay in our coverage.
Think about this scenario: It’s the AFC Championship Game. The NFL gets wind that CBS has lost the feed. Do you think they’d play the game with no TV coverage?
I’m tempted to say NO WAY.
However, in Buffalo today the power went out and the Bills and Chargers kept playing with no TV coverage, so maybe they would play.
Regardless, MLB should have postponed the game. Between TBSgate and the nonsense with starting the World Series late to accommodate a commercial (Barack bought time) maybe they really don’t want any of us to watch the games?
