Still No Buzz On This Super Bowl

I’ve been staring at the keyboard for half an hour looking for something to write about.

Andy Pettitte and his contract, that’s nice for a sentence.   I could even speculate that if he’s the fifth starter he’d be on track to start the home opener.

Brian Cashman’s reaction to Torre’s book?  Two days of that was enough.  The tragic story of Eddy Curry’s children…my thoughts are with him but no words I could type would seem appropriate there.

Then I remembered, “Oh yeah, the Super Bowl is this weekend!”

There is zero buzz on this came.  I’m sure if you live in Pittsburgh it’s very exciting.   I’m sure there are a whole bunch of new front-runners in Phoenix.

Around New York, nobody cares.

Yes we’ll watch.   It’s the Super Bowl.

Care?  Excited?   Nah.

The Super Bowl is lower on the sports totem-poll right now that Joe Torre, Pettitte, Manny, patches, Citibank’s finances and maybe even some Knicks talk.

The two week gap often makes for some quiet time, and last week was one of the deadest ever.  I figured that Monday would bring some excitement to Tampa, but it hasn’t.

So let me know what numbers I have in the pool, and I’ll hope for a close game as always but Kurt Warner and Big Ben and even The Boss aren’t getting me pumped.
